MSU hosts the 2nd MHK-MSU Mini-Half Marathon with HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Princess Cups to Raise Funds for the University’s Hospital
18 February 2017 – Mahasarakham University has for the 2nd time held “MHK-MSU Mini-Half Marathon” to raise money to donate to Suddhavej Hospital, Mahasarakham University’s hospital.
Suddhavej Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Mahasarakham University, founded on June 16, 2014, is one of the largest hospitals in Maha Sarakham province, with 200 beds, 6 examination rooms, 6 operation rooms and 8 specialty clinics. The Hospital is dedicated to providing highest quality patient care and service for all people in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human illness, and to improving the health of the surrounding community.
Mr. Pusit Somjit, Provincial Vice-Governor of Maha Sarakham Province presided over the opening ceremony for the 2nd MHK-MSU Mini-Half Marathon at Suddhavej Hospital in the early morning of February 18. Besides the fundraising, this event was organized to commemorate His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to promote health and wellness in the community.
The marathon competition was divided into 3 categories: half marathon (21.1 km), mini marathon (9.5 km), and run-walk marathon for health (4.7 km), with HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Princess Cups given to 4 winners. Over 2,831 athletes throughout the province and the country participated in the competition.
